Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a nursing assistant on the 7am-7pm shift (36 hours/week) for a 27-bed medical telemetry unit. The role includes bedside care, vital signs monitoring, EKGs, and point-of-care testing, with a focus on safe, compassionate patient support for adults with a range of acute medical conditions.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED, with less than 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire required.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients, including activities of daily living.
• Monitors patient condition levels and reports changes to the RN.
• Performs hourly rounds to identify and address patient needs.
• Obtains and documents patient vital signs electronically.
• Trains and precepts new employees.
• Performs Point-of-Care testing and maintains related records.
• Prepares patients for tests and transports them to procedures.
• Collects specimens as directed and handles specimens appropriately.
• Performs EKGs and transmits studies.
• Maintains equipment and supplies for patient care.
• Keeps par levels of supplies and notifies when reorder points are reached.
