Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Telemetry on a part-time night shift in Kishwaukee, IL. The RN will assess patients, coordinate care with the healthcare team, administer medications, and support discharge planning. A BSN is preferred, with an Illinois RN license and BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois (Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments reflecting age-specific needs and variables affecting patient care
• Develop and update nursing plan of care with input from interdisciplinary team and patient/family
• Administer prescribed medications and provide safe nursing interventions
• Coordinate communications with physicians and other health care providers
• Support discharge planning and patient/family education
• Document patient status and responses to interventions accurately and timely
• Ensure adherence to Standards of Care and OSHA guidelines
• Engage patient/family in care planning and education
• Prioritize care needs and adapt to changing unit activity
• Assist with planning and execution of patient care conferences
