Qualifications

• Completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required

Responsibilities

• Observe and interpret telemetry monitors; record rhythm strips at established intervals.
• Identify rhythm changes and promptly notify the nurse or licensed personnel.
• Maintain effective communication with peers, staff, physicians and leaders for care coordination.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with monitoring equipment; escalate as directed.
• Organize and track monitoring equipment during the shift for admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Ensure accurate lead placement and electrode application for optimal monitoring.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
