Job summary

North Okaloosa Medical Center seeks a Monitor Technician to provide continuous surveillance of telemetry monitors, document cardiac rhythms, and identify arrhythmias. You will communicate findings to the care team and ensure equipment is properly configured for safe patient monitoring.

Qualifications include completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course and 0–2 years of clerical or clinical experience. Strong communication and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required.
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe and interpret telemetry monitors and record rhythm strips at set intervals.
• Identify rhythm changes and promptly notify nurses or licensed personnel of potential emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with peers, staff, physicians, and leaders for care coordination.
• Troubleshoot and resolve monitoring equipment issues; escalate to Bio-med or IT as directed.
• Organize and track monitoring equipment for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Ensure correct lead placement and electrode application for optimal telemetry.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
