Job summary

North Okaloosa Medical Center is seeking a Monitor Technician to provide continuous surveillance of telemetry monitors and document patient cardiac rhythms. You will identify arrhythmias, communicate findings to the healthcare team, and ensure equipment is properly configured and functional.

Qualifications include a telemetry or EKG interpretation course and 0–2 years of clerical/clinical experience. Night shifts with competitive pay and a robust benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required.
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observes and interprets telemetry monitors, recording rhythm strips at established intervals.
• Identifies rhythm changes and notifies licensed personnel of potential life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Maintains effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and leaders for seamless care coordination.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues with monitoring equipment and escalates as directed.
• Organizes and tracks monitoring equipment during shifts for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Ensures proper lead placement and electrode application for optimal telemetry monitoring.
