Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Monitor Technician for the telemetry unit on nights. You will observe and interpret heart rhythms and vital data from telemetry to identify abnormalities and alert the care team promptly.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, a Dysrhythmia Interpretation certificate, and a current BLS. Healthcare experience, even six months, is preferred. This is a full-time role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Six months previous experience in healthcare or as Monitor Technician.

Responsibilities

• Cardiac monitoring, observe and interpret heart rhythms displayed on telemetry monitors.
• Notify nurses or physicians of significant changes in rhythm or vital signs and escalate when needed.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot telemetry equipment and ensure proper signal transmission.
• Record telemetry readings in the medical record and generate rhythm strips for analysis.
• Ensure lab and radiology tests are ordered and completed.
