Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and manages charting for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Maintains patient charts, updates information, and processes diagnostic test requests.
• Relays physician orders and patient information to nursing staff; responds to patient calls and alarms.
• Answers unit phones, manages departmental communications, and routes calls to appropriate staff.
• Monitors telemetry equipment, identifies abnormal rhythms, and reports to nursing/medical staff.
• Maintains supply inventories and coordinates transport of charts, supplies, and equipment.
• Completes in-services and participates in orientation of new clerical staff.
• Ensures proper documentation of telemetry data, including measurement of heart rhythms and intervals.
