Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Telemetry Technician / Monitor Tech. The role involves watching patient monitors, interpreting EKG rhythms, and responding to alarms to ensure timely patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies within 30 days of start date.
• Preferred background as LPN, EMS, or RN with EKG training.

Responsibilities

• Continuously watch monitors and respond to alarms promptly.
• Verify identification of basic and lethal rhythms and manage EKG alarms.
• Interpret EKGs: rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QT, QTc, ST, rhythm.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by RN.
