Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham is seeking a Telemetry Technician/Monitor Tech for PRN day shifts in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on monitoring patient rhythms, alarm management, and timely RN verification of strip interpretations.

Preferred candidates include those with LPN, EMS, or RN with EKG training. Compensation starts at $19.00/hour with competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs within 30 days of start date.
• Preferred background as LPN, Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms continuously and respond to alarms promptly and appropriately.
• Observe all monitors and verify correct responses to alarms.
• Perform EKG interpretations including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTc, ST segment and rhythm.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by RN.
