Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH seeks a Monitor Tech/Clinical Assistant to support the nursing unit by monitoring telemetry, assisting with basic patient care, and serving as a communications hub. You will greet patients, update assignments, and help with order entry and data handling.

The role requires attention to accuracy, discretion with confidential data, and teamwork in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Clerical vocational training preferred.
• Arrhythmia competency completed upon hire.

Responsabilités

• Monitor cardiac rhythm via telemetry and hardware.
• Identify rhythms and report variances promptly.
• Assist with applying telemetry and battery changes.
• Greet and assist those on the unit; manage calls and visitors.
• Enter and update Vocera staff assignments; support CPOE usage.
• Assist with data entry/order entry and department communications.
• Maintain department records, mail, and office supplies.
• Observe patients and report unusual conditions to a nurse.
• Assist with admissions, discharge, and transfers.
• Respond to call lights and patient needs; document per policy.
