Job summary

MUSC Health seeks a compassionate Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Nurse for our 30-bed unit. The role provides direct nursing care to adult patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including continuous cardiac monitoring and thorough documentation in Epic.

The incumbent collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety, effective care transitions, and patient-family education while upholding the highest standards of nursing excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• RN licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support or American Red Cross BLS forHealthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor telemetry for cardiac abnormalities.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Manage patients with medical-surgical and post-operative needs.
• Document all nursing care, patient responses, and bedside shift reports accurately in Epic.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Promote patient safety through infection control, fall prevention, and other safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional development.
