Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Richmond VA Medical Center is seeking five Inpatient Staff Registered Nurses for the Telemetry Unit on the day shift to join the Acute Care service.

The selected incumbent will be responsible for the nursing process, direct patient care, and coordination of care with emphasis on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency is required
• Graduate of an approved nursing program with ACEN/CCNE accreditation
• State license as a registered nurse (RN) in the United States
• Bridge program pathways may apply for licensure eligibility
• Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalence
• Current full, active RN license in a US state or territory

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and nursing procedures per policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes
• Participate in unit/program quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
• Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care and supervise licensed staff as appropriate
• Lead nursing education, orientation, and competency development
