Job summary

US Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Medical Instrument Technician (Electrocardiograph/Telemetry) to monitor ECG equipment for continuous telemetry rhythm evaluation and interpretation at James Mountain Inhofe Hospital. Experience with Telemetry services and Telemetry cardiac monitoring is highly desirable.

Applicants must meet basic requirements including English proficiency. Training level ranges GS-04 to GS-07 with progression based on experience and education; preferred candidates

Qualifications

Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to learn equipment and settings.
Ability to recognize distress and abnormal readings.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

Monitor electrocardiographic equipment for continuous telemetry rhythm evaluation and interpretation.
Operate telemetry equipment and perform standard diagnostic procedures.
Respond to signs of distress and report abnormal findings.
Assist with patient positioning and care during monitoring.
