Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Medical Instrument Technician (EKG/Telemetry) to operate and monitor ECG equipment for continuous telemetry rhythm evaluation and interpretation.

The incumbent will remotely monitor cardiac rhythms and oximetry for up to 35 patients under RN and provider direction, with progression through GS levels as experience grows. Strong KSAs and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Experience with telemetry/ECG terminology.
  • Ability to learn equipment operation and patient reactions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor electrocardiographic equipment for continuous telemetry rhythm evaluation and interpretation.
  • Remotely monitor cardiac rhythms and oximetry readings for up to 35 patients under RN and medical providers.
