Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Basic clerical, computer data entry and math skills.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
• One year of acute care or telemetry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document patient cardiac rhythm each shift and with new telemetry patients.
• RN cosigns rhythm documentation.
• Notify RN immediately for life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Respond promptly to monitor alarms per department/hospital policy.
• Document all communications to care givers.
• Ensure central monitor is never left unattended.
• Ensure all patients on telemetry are connected to central monitor and alarms are appropriately set.
• Maintain organized EKG records and file reports as needed.
