Job summary

ExcelGens, Inc. in New York City seeks a Telemetry Technician to provide advanced ECG monitoring, assess patient status through strip analysis, identify life-threatening rhythms, initiate codes when needed, and document rhythms during codes.

You will perform bedside ECGs with proper electrode placement, communicate with nurses and physicians, verify orders, retrieve lab results, maintain documentation, and operate monitoring equipment safely.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
• Dysrhythmia Course or equivalent training recommended.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings with correct electrode placement.
• Communicate clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
• Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
• Retrieve laboratory results from the system and notify the charge nurse.
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment safely and correctly.

Job Summary:
Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation, identifying and responding to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiating codes, recording rhythms during codes, performing continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, troubleshooting monitoring problems, and appropriately responding to all monitor alarms.

Job Responsibilities

• Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
• Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and bring results to the attention of the charge nurse.
