Job summary

The Cardiac Technician at Baptist Health Care monitors patient telemetry in the central monitoring room, identifying rhythm disturbances and notifying clinical staff as needed. This role supports rapid, evidence-based responses to alarms and patient changes.

You will ensure accurate ECG input, interpret alarms within minutes, and coordinate with RNs and the Bio-medical Electronics team to maintain patient safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must maintain continuous observation of EKG tracing during watch.
• Ability to respond to rhythm disturbances and monitor alarms.
• Good communication with RN and other clinical staff.
• Accurate documentation of telemetry data and patient status.
• Ability to prioritize arrhythmias and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Maintains close observation of EKG tracing continuously during assigned watch.
• Notifies clinical personnel of rhythm disturbances and monitoring problems.
• Utilizes telemetry emergency call system for life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Consults with RN when treatment of the arrhythmia is indicated.
• Responds to monitor alarms and notifies appropriate personnel.
