Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Cardiac Technician to assist with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of rhythm strips in the Non-Invasive Cardiology area, and to perform ECGs. The role also supports clerical tasks such as data preparation for physician interpretation, filing, and reporting to the medical record.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, completion of an EKG interpretation course, and BLS certification, with a shift described as Third Shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an EKG interpretation course and able to score 85% on rhythm strip exam required within 6 weeks in position.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in monitoring patient heart rhythms on telemetry.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and notify nursing staff as needed.
• Perform electrocardiographs and clerical operations of the EKG area (data preparation for physician interpretation, filing, reporting).
