Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking personnel to monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under RN supervision. You will analyze ECG rhythms, maintain central monitors during transport, and ensure alarms are properly set.

Responsibilities include cleaning/maintaining telemetry equipment, responding to changes, and performing support duties such as video monitoring and phone coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience or equivalent
• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or completion of a dysrhythmia course on hire
• Preferred EMS, CMA diploma/training/experience

Responsibilities

• Accurately analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure.
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport; identifies changes and reports to the RN as appropriate.
• Cleans and maintains telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon patient discharge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors; ensures alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
• Performs other unit-specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry and answering phones.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
