Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Telehealth Coordinator to support facility patient care through telehealth, improving access to community specialists and reducing transport needs for custody staff.

Responsibilities include arranging telehealth appointments, preparing equipment, and coordinating with providers while maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; active, unrestricted LPN license in the state where facility is located.
• Current, unrestricted LPN license on file at the facility.
• Two years of direct LPN work experience preferred.
• General knowledge of telemedicine equipment and processes preferred.
• Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical and psychiatric nursing care.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and provide appropriate follow-up treatment.
• Ability to use computers and EMR in telehealth encounters.

Responsibilities

• Arrange all telehealth appointments with the designated patient scheduler.
• Prepare clinical environment and equipment for remote examinations.
• Assist patients with standardized forms and history for telehealth.
• Liaise with community providers during telehealth encounters.
• Share pertinent medical data/summary from EMR with providers during encounters.
• Obtain consent for treatments or medications as needed.
• Prepare monthly telehealth statistics for Health Services leadership.
• Assist with floor nursing operations when appointments are paused.
• Coordinate intake-related labs, EKGs, imaging and other studies.
