Job summary

AEP in Ohio Groveport seeks a Telecom Technician Apprentice II to gain practical experience in telecommunications. The role supports entry to basic installation, testing, and inspection of telecom equipment and infrastructure under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2-year technical degree in a related field.
• Military training or related tech experience accepted.
• High school diploma with at least 1 year related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist or perform entry-level installation and testing of telecom equipment.
• Troubleshoot and test electronic and optical telecom systems.
• Maintain records, drawings and data for work performed.
• Inspect test equipment and safety gear for proper operation.
• Read and update telecom equipment prints and asset records.
• Respond to emergency callouts and follow safety rules.
