Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking a seasoned Telecommunications engineer in Austin, TX, to plan and execute independent engineering work across ICT-Telecommunications systems. You will help design, modify, and evaluate components, interpret new standards, and present findings to upper management.

The role requires 8–14 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, with RCDD certification preferred and opportunities to lead innovative telecom studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8-10 years of relevant Telecommunications engineering experience or 12-14 years of related work experience.
• RCDD certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform independent Telecommunications engineering work with sound judgment.
• Support design, development, modification, and evaluation of ICT-Telecommunications components.
• Develop conceptual designs for projects with specialized requirements.
• Interpret new regulations, codes, and performance data.
• Communicate complex technical issues to upper management.
• Assist with cost estimates, staffing needs, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with client representatives for approvals.
• Lead studies on new telecom methods and technologies.

• Plan and conduct independent Telecommunications engineering work requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, and application of engineering techniques and criteria.
• Support the design, development, modification, and evaluation of ICT-Telecommunications components and processes.
• Develop conceptual designs for Telecommunications engineering projects with specialized or unique requirements.
• Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
• Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.
• Support preparation of cost estimates, staffing requirements, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of Telecommunications-related work.
• Conduct or lead special studies on new telecommunications methods, materials, and technologies.
• Participate in and provide input to technical training and educational programs as directed.
