Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh area seeks a Communications Dispatcher responsible for receiving and dispatching 9-1-1 and non-emergency patient transport requests based on patient acuity, evaluating and prioritizing calls, and dispatching the appropriate personnel and equipment.

Using a CAD system to monitor Mobile Critical Care Services units and the RCS 800 MHz radio system, you will transmit vital information to field units, maintain weather/incident awareness, and keep reference logs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch 9-1-1 and non-emergency requests for patient transport based on patient acuity.
• Evaluate and prioritize calls for service and dispatch the appropriate personnel and equipment.
• Monitor and update CAD system and Mobile Critical Care Services units.
• Use the RCS 800 Mhz radio system to monitor frequencies and transmit vital information to field units.
• Maintain situational awareness for weather and other incidents and keep logs updated in the Communications Center.
• Perform other duties as assigned; Certified Flight Communicator within one year of hire required.
