Job summary

Odyssey Information Services is seeking an Emerging IT professional to support our telecommunications infrastructure. You will apply technical expertise to configure, repair, and install voice and data lines and assist the community with system issues.

The role includes troubleshooting, supporting Nortel, Vocera, and Shortel systems, and advising on technology standards in collaboration with development teams.

Qualifications

• Must develop and apply technical expertise in IT disciplines supporting technical infrastructure.
• Experience configuring, repairing, and installing telecommunications voice/data lines.
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting telecommunications infrastructure issues.
• Experience providing technical assistance to the community.
• Experience configuring and supporting Nortel, Vocera, and Shortel systems.
• Tier 1 network switching and routing troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Configure, repair, and install telecommunications voice and data lines per code standards.
• Analyze and troubleshoot telecommunications infrastructure issues.
• Provide technical assistance to the community.
• Configure and support Nortel, Vocera, and Shortel systems.
• Perform network switching and routing Tier 1 troubleshooting.
• Support standard architectures, hardware, and software components.
• Consult with development teams and customers on technologies and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Configure, repair, and install telecommunications voice and data lines while adhering to code standards.
• Analyze and troubleshoot telecommunications infrastructure issues.
• Provide technical assistance to the community.
• Configure and support Nortel, Vocera, and Shortel telecommunications systems.
• Perform network switching and routing tier 1 troubleshooting.
• Support the establishment, development, and promotion of standard architectures, hardware components, and software components.
• Provide consulting services to application development teams and/or customers regarding technologies and specific technology standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Developing and applying technical expertise in one or more IT disciplines that support technical infrastructure.
• Experience with configuration, repair and installation of telecommunications voice and data lines.
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting telecommunications infrastructure issues.
• Experience providing technical assistance to the community.
• Experience configuring and supporting Nortel, Vocera, and Shortel telecommunications systems.
• Network switching and routing Tier 1 troubleshooting experience.

Need experience in at least ONE of the following:

• AudioCodes SBC and Gateway Ribbon SBC

Required Education:

OR

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least three (3) years of direct experience.
• Associate’s Degree in IS with at least two (2) years of direct experience.
