Strategic Operational Solutions, Inc. (STOPSO) is seeking candidates for a Telecommunications Technician role. Your work will be conducted onsite for a client in the greater Washington, DC area.

Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco-based telecommunications equipment and systems within a government contracting environment. This role would involve working with various Cisco products like routers, switches, voice over IP (VoIP) systems, and unified communications platforms.
  • System Installation and Configuration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco routers, switches, VoIP systems, and unified communications platforms.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with telecommunications equipment and systems, including VoIP and unified communications.
  • Network Design and Planning: Participating in the design and planning of telecommunications networks, considering factors like network security, scalability, and performance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and upkeep on telecommunications equipment, including testing and calibration.
  • Documenting and Maintaining Records: Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance activities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicating effectively with clients, technicians, and management personnel to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless operation of telecommunications systems.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensuring that telecommunications systems are compliant with relevant government regulations and security standards.

What You Must Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ Years of Experience
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, VoIP, and unified communications.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Certifications: Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance: May require a government security clearance depending on the specific contracting role.
  • Experience: Experience working in a government contracting environment is a plus.
  • A self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
