Telecommunications Specialist (DC) VA-540-004-027

NT Concepts is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to provide telecommunications connectivity support for both secure and unsecure voice and video communications to one of our cleared Government clients located domestically and worldwide. This position supports the Voice Over IP (VOIP) telephone and Video Telecommunications systems used by high‑level executives. The role serves as an on‑call 24/7 point of contact for all communications issues, ensuring continuity of mission‑critical operations.

• Serve as a voice/VOIP telephone systems operator for classified and unclassified resources, responsible for operation, coordination, scheduling, maintenance, and testing.
• Act as a voice telecommunications specialist for classified systems, handling programming, operation, maintenance, testing, and connections for all secure voice telecommunications via VoSIP and department networks.
• Coordinate with other agency sites and users for scheduling voice and video teleconferences.
• Test, troubleshoot, and install secure and non‑secure fax machines, handling all related circuit and mechanical problems to prevent outages.
• Possess operational and technical knowledge of secure phones and Ricoh/ILEX classified fax machines, maintaining and testing both classified and unclassified fax equipment and connections.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree desirable; equivalent work experience acceptable.
• Minimum 5–7 years of general telecommunications experience.
• Familiarity with networking concepts related to a VoIP telephony environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of telecommunications operating techniques, digital and analog communications, local and wide area networking, and procedures used by federal and industry organizations.
• Knowledge of Tandberg and/or other equivalent Video Teleconferencing systems desirable.
• Ability to follow established policies and regulations with exact precision; attention to detail is essential.
• Experience working under severe time constraints and multitasking complex tasks in order to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues in the Telecommunications Unit and Operations Center.
• Good health to handle long hours during emergency situations and operate in high‑intensity environments.
• Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and related PC applications for documentation and records.
• Provide daily and/or weekly status reports as requested by Supervisor.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance required.
