Barlovento-LLC is seeking a Telecommunications Installer/Electrician's helper to perform on-site cable installation tasks at DoD installations. You will place, test, and terminate fiber and CAT6a cables, operate hand and power tools, and ensure safety on site.

Job description

Telecommunications Installer/Electrician's helper

Primary Function

Perform tasks involving telecommunications installation at building construction projects at various local DOD installations. Work may be performed both indoors and outside. May be responsible for installing cable pathways, placing cable, labeling cables and certifying communications cabling (copper and fiber cable) per specs and plans. Must be able to operate hand and power tools of all types safely. Conduit and cable tray installation experience a plus. Typical work hours: on site at 6:30 am and work until 3:30 pm. Overtime is not frequent unless project deadline is not being met. Pay is competitive. Most of our installers are professionals and have been here for years, they are easy to get along with and hard-working individuals. We are looking for a long-term team member. Typical Duties

  • Placing, Testing, and Termination of ISP Fiber and CAT6a
  • Ensure work areas are kept neat and tidy as to avoid hazards.
  • Understand how to safely place and work from a ladder.
  • Load, unload, and identify materials and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Perform additional assignments as needed.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in Telecommunication Installation. Experience placing, testing, and terminating ISP Fiber and CAT6a. Knowledge of related machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. OSHA knowledge and understanding of safety requirements.
