TriTechne, Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications Cable Installer I to support fiber optic and copper cable installation and maintenance in field settings.

Under supervision, you will assist in installation, testing, and repair to ensure reliable networks. The role emphasizes a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while strictly following safety protocols and providing professional customer service during in-home and on-site service

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; telecom certification is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic and copper cable systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installation and routing of fiber optic and copper cables indoors and outdoors.
  • Assist in terminating and connecting cables to maintain signal integrity.
  • Help conduct cable tests and troubleshoot issues to verify signal quality.
  • Maintain accurate installation records and paperwork.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE.
  • Support lead technician with customer-facing service installations.

Job Description Summary: As a Telecommunications Cable Installer I, you will play a vital role in supporting the installation and maintenance of telecommunications cable systems, including fiber optic and copper cables. Working under the supervision of senior installers or project managers, you will assist in the installation, testing, and repair of cable systems, ensuring the integrity and reliability of telecommunications networks. This position requires a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Cable Installation and Routing: Assist in the installation and routing of telecommunications cables (fiber optic and copper) in indoor and outdoor environments, following installation plans and blueprints to ensure proper placement and alignment.
  • Cable Termination and Connectorization: Assist in terminating and connecting telecommunications cables, aligning, splicing, and terminating cables to maintain signal integrity and minimize signal loss.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Assist in conducting cable tests and measurements to verify signal strength, continuity, and quality, using specialized testing equipment; identify and troubleshoot issues related to cable connectivity, signal loss, or other technical problems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cable installations, terminations, and tests performed; complete required documentation and paperwork such as work orders, test reports, and inspection logs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working in the field, wearing appropriate PPE and following safe work practices; ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Interface and In-Home Service Delivery: Serve as the lead technician for customer-facing service installations and repairs involving TV, internet, Wi‑Fi, phone, and security equipment; mentor junior staff and resolve escalated customer concerns.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or coursework in telecommunications, and/or equivalent related experience.
  • Basic understanding of telecommunications cable systems, including fiber optic and copper cables.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity, with the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in confined spaces, and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Ability to climb utility poles and ladders up to 40 feet using proper fall protection equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools, handle small components, and complete fine motor tasks.
  • Visual acuity required to read blueprints and operate machinery.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions in noisy work environments.
  • Must wear and work in required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high‑visibility vests, and climbing gear.
  • Ability to drive and operate company vehicles and trailers, with or without towing, as required.
