Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking Telecommunications Deployment Technicians for an onsite, contract rollout of Cisco phones at a major healthcare facility in Hackensack, NJ. The project includes deploying approximately 6,000 devices and supporting engineers during installation.

This role is ideal for individuals with cabling, telecommunications, or IT support experience who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment on a daily onsite schedule (Mon-Fri).

Qualifications

• Must be onsite daily in Hackensack, NJ.
• Comfortable performing physical work, including moving equipment and pulling cable.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers and technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and deployment of Cisco phone devices.
• Pull, route, and organize network and telecommunications cabling.
• Label cables, ports, and equipment accurately.
• Verify network ports are active and functioning properly.
• Connect, configure, and physically install devices.
• Support engineering teams with deployment activities and troubleshooting.
• Maintain organized documentation and work areas.
• Follow site procedures and safety guidelines.

Telecommunications Deployment Technician (Onsite) / "Smart Hands" Technician

Location: Hackensack, NJ

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Onsite (5 days per week)

Experience Level: Entry Level/Intermediate

Position Overview

We are seeking two reliable Telecommunications Deployment Technicians to support a large-scale enterprise phone system rollout at a major healthcare facility in Hackensack, NJ. This project involves the deployment of approximately 6,000 Cisco phone devices and will provide support for engineering staff throughout the installation process. (Engineers can help train you).

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with cabling, telecommunications, or IT support experience who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and deployment of Cisco phone devices

• Pull, route, and organize network and telecommunications cabling

• Label cables, ports, and equipment accurately

• Verify network ports are active and functioning properly

• Connect, configure, and physically install devices

• Support engineering teams with deployment activities and troubleshooting

• Maintain organized documentation and work areas

• Follow site procedures and safety guidelines

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hackensack, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
