Job summary

Kane Partners LLC is seeking a Software QA Engineer to join our telecom software testing team. This hands-on role focuses on mobile apps, web apps, backend systems, integrations, and connected devices, conducting functional and regression testing and investigating defects.

You will create and execute test plans and cases, track defects in Jira, analyze logs, and work with development and product teams to ensure reliable releases.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Software QA / Software Testing.
• Experience testing telecom or communications software is preferred.
• Hands-on testing on Android and/or iOS mobile apps.
• Experience with web and backend testing and defect lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Jira and analyzing logs for issues.
• Knowledge of Linux and debugging/log analysis skills.
• Understanding of end-to-end software workflows and root-cause analysis.
• Familiarity with test automation concepts and tools.
• Strong communication with development and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Test telecom software applications across mobile, web, backend, and integrated systems.

• Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to automated testing.
• Track QA metrics including test progress, coverage, defects, and release quality.
• Communicate testing results, risks, blockers, and overall quality status.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in Software QA / Software Testing


• Experience testing software applications, preferably within telecommunications, communications, networking, or a related technology environment


• Hands‑on experience with mobile application testing on Android and/or iOS


• Experience with web and backend testing


• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the software defect lifecycle


• Experience with Jira or a similar defect tracking system


• Ability to analyze application, device, and server logs


• Working knowledge of Linux


• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills


• Ability to follow an issue through an end‑to‑end software workflow and help identify root cause


• Familiarity with test automation concepts and tools


• Strong communication skills and ability to work with software development and product teams

Telecom Experience

• Experience testing telecom or communications software


• Experience with VoIP, SIP, RTP, PTT/MCPTT, or real‑time communications


• Knowledge of 3GPP or telecom network integrations


• Experience testing third‑party integrations or connected devices


• Experience with API, UI, mobile, or backend automation


• Scripting/programming experience with Python, Java, or similar


• ISTQB or other QA certification
