Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Systems Engineer for a hybrid role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will design, implement, and maintain advanced communication systems, from network architecture to deployment and troubleshooting, ensuring reliability and performance of our infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical, Computer, or Telecommunications engineering, 6+ years in telecom systems, and solid knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, VoIP, 4G/5G, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in telecommunications systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP), VoIP, and cellular technologies (4G/5G).
• Experience with network management and monitoring tools.
• Proficiency in system design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and video networks.
• Develop technical specifications and system architecture documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the telecommunications infrastructure.
• Perform system testing, integration, and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network operations, IT, and product development.
• Ensure the security and integrity of telecommunications systems.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements.
