VELCO is seeking a Telecom Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the utility telecommunications infrastructure that supports transmission, distribution, substations, and OT networks. You will ensure SCADA and protective relaying systems stay secure, resilient, and highly available across the grid.

You will collaborate with IT, Operations, System Protection, Engineering, and field personnel to implement upgrades and support regulatory requirements, grounding practices, and lifecycle

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years designing and supporting enterprise telecommunications and network infrastructure.
• Experience with utility communications systems or critical infrastructure environments preferred.
• Knowledge of SCADA, DNP3, IEC 61850, Modbus, ICCP, and utility communication protocols.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot utility telecommunications infrastructure.
• Support SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS, AMI, DER, and other OT systems.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, and telecommunications equipment.
• Lead telecom and networking projects from planning through implementation.
• Provide Tier-2/3 support and after-hours on-call coverage.
• Maintain network architecture diagrams and documentation.
