Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Telecom/SUE Technician to join our Utility Engineering Team. Location options include Lisle, IL or other posting sites; role involves site visits, mapping, drafting, design, and permitting support for telecom projects.

You’ll perform utility locating, GIS mapping, and monitor contractor safety while ensuring work aligns with plans. Training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2+ years of technician experience.
• Ability to work in office and field environments; lift up to 100 lb occasionally.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Perform site visits including utility locating, GIS mapping, and documenting conditions.
• Monitor safety on construction sites and ensure work matches plans.
• Observe as-built conditions and document changes.
• Provide drafting support using AutoCAD for telecom and utility projects.
• Occasional overnight travel.
