Job summary

Ashburn Consulting LLC is seeking a hands-on Telecommunications Engineer to support FEMA CCD continuity-communications programs from Mount Weather EOC in Bluemont, VA. Responsibilities include analyzing, designing and maintaining terrestrial and wireless networks, plus configuring Cisco gear and RF systems.

Ideal candidates hold an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility, CCNA certification, and 3–5 years of related field experience in telecom, RF, and network‑infrastructure design.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and DHS suitability processing.
  • CCNA certification is required and CCNP/CCIE are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of hands‑on telecommunications, network, RF, field engineering, or related experience.
  • Experience with routers, switches, servers, telecom systems, and Carrier Ethernet transport.
  • Ability to commute to Mount Weather EOC in Bluemont, VA and support controlled-site access.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, research, develop, test, implement, optimize, and maintain terrestrial and wireless telecom systems and networks.
  • Configure and support Cisco routers, switches, servers, network services, and related interfaces.
  • Operate and troubleshoot HF radio, satellite, VHF/UHF, Wi‑Fi, and related communications equipment.
  • Configure and install RF equipment, base stations, antennas, and related cabling per diagrams and BOMs.
  • Prepare configurations, drawings, BOMs, test plans/results, SOPs, and as-built documentation.
