Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Project Engineer - Telecommunications to independently perform engineering design, analysis, and plan production for telecom projects in the United States. You will lead fiber optic infrastructure design, coordinate with clients and contractors, and deliver quality documents on schedule.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years of experience in telecommunications/fiber, and proficiency with CAD and design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Telecommunications, or related Engineering field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with demonstrated project success.
• Telecommunications and fiber optic design experience strongly preferred.
• Aerial and underground fiber design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Develop accurate, complete, and professional construction documents with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, engineers, contractors, utilities, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate design alternatives and provide practical, cost-effective, and constructible solutions.
• Review plans, specifications, calculations, and other project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Support project estimates, proposals, schedules, and budgets.
• Assist with construction administration, field observations, contractor questions, and change orders as needed.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support business development opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
