River City Construction seeks a skilled technician to install and maintain overhead and underground fiber optic systems in Virginia and nearby areas. You will perform aerial maintenance tasks, operate bucket trucks, and coordinate with utilities to ensure safe, compliant construction activities.
Responsibilities include fiber pulling, lashing, reading drawings, preparing daily reports, and attending safety trainings.
Position Purpose:
Install and maintain overhead and underground fiber optic systems. Perform all responsibilities of telecommunication aerial maintenance and line work, which may include installing and removing anchors, lashing and de‑lashing existing cable, operating bucket trucks, and handling construction equipment.
The physical demands described here are typical of those that must be met by a team‑member to perform the essential functions of this job in powerline construction.
While performing the responsibilities, team‑members must frequently stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The job demands rigorous physical labor, including lifting or moving up to, or exceeding, 80 lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Team‑members may experience fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and extreme environmental conditions. Noise levels in the work environment can be loud, and work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
