Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to support planning, design, implementation, activation and QA of telecommunications infrastructure across campus.

Under general direction, the role provides technical expertise in structured cabling, fiber optics, and pathways, working with architects, engineers, contractors and facilities staff to meet ASU standards and project goals. Travel to campuses may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in the area or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Experience with structured cabling design, fiber optic infrastructure, and low‑voltage systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and facilities staff.
  • Familiarity with ASU standards and industry best practices.
  • Willingness to travel between ASU campuses and work on construction/renovation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction documents for compliance with ASU standards and best practices.
  • Support design through construction phases of capital and tenant improvement projects.
  • Coordinate with teams for rack‑and‑stack, activation, and turnover to operations.
  • Perform field assessments, site surveys, and infrastructure evaluations.
  • Maintain technical documentation and project records.
  • Assist with modernization and infrastructure expansion initiatives.
