Job summary

MasTec Communications Group in Charlotte, NC seeks a Laborer/Groundman to support outdoor fiber construction projects. You will aid with trenching, conduit work, HDD, pulling cables, pole work, and drop installations while following safety rules and directions from supervisors.

You will need a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT medical card; lifting up to 70 lbs and reading diagrams are part of the job. Compensation ranges $18–$22 per hour.

Qualifications

• DOT medical card or ability to obtain it is required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving standards are required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs and read maps or diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Follow Foreman or Supervisor to complete field labor tasks safely and efficiently.
• Assist with shoveling, site cleanup, material handling, and equipment operation as trained.
• Monitor excavation work to prevent utility strikes and follow safety procedures.
• Learn inventory, tools, and jobsite procedures; participate in pole work when certified.
