Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $34.64/hr

• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Respond to and resolve network issues (reactive maintenance) and perform routine inspections (preventative maintenance).
• Technical Updates: Carry out hardware/software updates and modifications to equipment at remote sites.
• Testing & Measurement: Use specialized RF and fiber optic test equipment like OTDR, spectrum analyzers, and fusion splicers.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic records of completed work and activities.
• Coordination: Interface with NOC (Network Operations Center), engineering teams, customers, and sales.
• Physical Field Work: Includes elevated work (e.g., using a bucket truck) to inspect and repair equipment.

Construction (10%)

• Equipment Installation and Testing: Assist with installation, provisioning, and validation of high-speed fiber networks and telecom circuits.
• Site Surveys & QA: Conduct site inspections to ensure quality installations and adherence to standards.
• Labeling & Documentation: Ensure equipment and cables are labeled according to network diagrams.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Technical Experience: 2–5 years in telecom installation and maintenance, with a strong understanding of fiber optics, Ethernet, SONET, and RF.
• Testing Proficiency: Ability to use OTDRs, BER testers, power meters, etc.
• Certifications: CCNA or equivalent is a plus; bucket truck/DOT certification preferred.
• Computer Literacy: Must know Microsoft Office and be able to use web-based ticketing and monitoring tools.
• Soft Skills: Organized, self-motivated, good communicator, and able to work independently in fast-paced environments.
