Role Overview

We are hiring an Alliances Field Engineer to support our major partners (e.g., Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata). Your role involves helping partners understand and adopt our open source platform, supporting enterprise adoption of technologies like Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps, and more. You will work closely with OEMs, GSIs, ISVs, channel, and cloud alliance partners to promote our products and develop joint solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world environments.
2. Architect cloud infrastructure solutions such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, Spark, on-premises or public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
3. Architect and integrate open source software like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, NGINX.
4. Assist partners in offering and architecting joint solutions using Canonical technologies.
5. Design and publish reference architectures and conduct technical validations.
6. Conduct onboarding sessions and workshops to promote Canonical products.

Qualifications

• Extensive Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, automation experience.
• Experience designing solutions on public/private clouds.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Motivated, capable of multi-tasking, reliable follow-up.
• Interest in customer engagement, pitching, demonstrating solutions.
• Interest in new tech like LXD, Juju, Snaps.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% globally.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
