Detailed Job Description

As a Telecom Equipment Installer, Commissioner and Integrator with STCS in Guam, USA, you will execute hands‑on engineering activities across central offices, cable landing stations, data centers, and remote telecommunications facilities. Working in close coordination with remote Network Operations Centers (NOC), optical network architects, project leads, and local carrier operations teams, you will oversee the complete lifecycle of optical transport hardware deployment from physical staging to final service integration and client acceptance.

Your core operational responsibilities encompass the physical installation of telecommunications racks, DC power distribution connections, optical fiber routing, cable dressing, and patch panel cross‑connections. You will perform firmware loads, card provisioning, hardware commissioning, optical power budget verification, and diagnostic troubleshooting across high‑capacity DWDM optical platforms, with a strong focus on Ciena, Nokia, or Infinera transport systems. In addition, you will conduct comprehensive optical fiber characterization testing—including Optical Time‑Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) traces, insertion loss measurements, and optical spectrum analysis—to isolate and resolve optical attenuation and hardware faults. Operating with strict adherence to industrial safety standards and quality control protocols, you will compile meticulous Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation and as‑built site records. Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical installation, racking, stacking, securing, and grounding of carrier‑grade telecommunications and optical transport equipment.
• Execute structured optical fiber and copper cabling, including fiber routing, patch panel terminations, optical cleaning, and connector inspections.
• Power up, provision, test, and commission high‑capacity DWDM optical transport platforms and multi‑service provisioning switches.
• Integrate optical nodes into live production networks in strict coordination with remote Network Operations Centers (NOC) and engineering teams.
• Conduct optical fiber characterization testing, OTDR analysis, optical return loss (ORL) measurements, and optical power meter validations.
