Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Extensive ICT/telecommunication design knowledge for project deliverables.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering calculations and application of engineering methods.
  • RCDD certification or professional registration in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing design processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Engineering and Construction/Procurement activities under the Resident Engineering Manager.
  • Perform engineering tasks in accordance with quality standards, cost and schedule.
  • Ensure facilities and systems are installed per engineering specifications.
  • Provide field support during construction with engineer of record.
  • Reflect as-built conditions in design documents.
  • Specify construction hold points and inspection requirements.
  • Resolve field questions related to change notices.
  • Ensure tasks stay within budget and are reflected in scope changes.
  • Perform site walkdowns.

Project Overview:

Fab 62 is an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility for Intel Corporation, located at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish-out a leading-edge chipmaking facility — a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success. The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Joining the Fab 62 team means contributing directly to one of the most strategically important construction efforts in the United States and helping deliver the infrastructure behind the next generation of microelectronics.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s telecommunications engineering aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure complex requirements are met according to design standards. #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:
  • Accountable to the Resident Engineering Manager for coordination of Engineering and Construction/Procurement activities, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.

  • Accountable to the Resident Engineering Manager for the performance of select engineering tasks, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.

  • Accountable to the Resident Engineering Manager for ensuring that facilities and systems are installed in accordance with the engineering specifications and requirements.

  • Coordinates with the engineer of record and provides field support during construction.

  • Ensures design documents reflect as-built conditions.

  • Manages the specification of construction hold points and inspection requirements.

  • Coordinates resolution of field questions related to field change notices and design change notices.

  • Ensures Resident Engineering tasks are completed within budget and ensures trends are processed for facility scope changes.

  • Perform site walkdowns

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Requires extensive technical knowledge of systems, equipment, applications of design methods, materials, and computers for preparation of analyses and development of project design deliverables within the ICT-Telecommunication discipline. ICT-Telecommunication discipline may include security systems, surveillance systems, ERRCS/DAS, and PAGA

  • Requires extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials, applications of computer software to engineering problems to ensure the design is cost effective, in accordance with applicable safety, health, environmental regulations, customer requirements and engineering codes and standards.

  • Must have working knowledge of engineering procedures, covering discipline deliverables, production and control, as well as organization and responsibilities for the Engineering Department.

  • Thorough knowledge of business practices, project forecasting required.

  • Experience in resolving complex technical problems and the ability to articulate explanations is essential.

  • Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential.

  • RCDD certification or professional registration in relevant engineering discipline required

  • Previous experience/knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing design process
