Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory seeks an Electronics Technologist to provide installation, testing, and maintenance of telecommunication infrastructure across LLNL facilities, including Site 300. On-site role within EIS, with responsibilities spanning fiber/copper cabling and VoIP services.

The position requires an Associate degree in electronics or related field, knowledge of fiber/copper systems, and ability to work safely in field environments; DOE Q-level clearance and California

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics, computer maintenance, or electro-optic technology or a related certificate with work experience.
• General knowledge of telecommunications, including fiber optic and copper cable systems, voice and data terminal equipment, building wiring and jacks.
• Basic knowledge of testing telecommunications systems and related equipment.
• DOE Q-level clearance eligibility requires U.S. citizenship.
• California driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Place, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cable in the outside plant.
• Build cross-connects for main distribution frame and building distribution frame.
• Resolve trouble tickets and repair services for fixed voice, VoIP, and copper circuits.
• Pre-field evaluation and action recommendations for provisioning Telecommunication Services.
• Collaborate with customer service representatives on complex issues.
