Job summary

Kanaan Communications is seeking a Telecom Construction Supervisor to oversee field operations across multiple Upper Peninsula sites. You will assign daily tasks, track materials, and ensure safety and quality control on all projects.

Strong leadership is essential to manage on-site personnel and deliver projects efficiently. The role requires 3+ years in telecommunications, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to travel to various job sites.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety is a priority.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel seasonally.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all operations to ensure construction tasks meet customer and industry specs, with emphasis on safety and productivity.
• Provide on-the-job training to employees on construction practices for a safe, efficient environment.
• Assign daily production to in-house and subcontract laborers and crews.
• Requisition, assign and track materials needed for daily operations.
• Perform audits of construction operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
• Resolve complaints with property owners in project areas.
• Review daily production reports, material usage, hours, and create accurate as-built maps.
• Reconcile issued parts and materials daily to ensure correct usage counts.
• Verify Daily Production Reports for accuracy and approve production for billing.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Supervise all operations to ensure that all construction operations are completed in accordance with customer andindustry specifications. This includes ensuring that all employees working on projects are working safely and productively.
• Provide employees working under your direction "On the Job Training" such as; construction practices and methods to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Assign daily production to in-house and subcontract laborers and crews.
• Requisition, assign and track materials needed for the daily operations.
• Perform audits of construction operations to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices.
• Resolve complaints with property owners in areas where our personnel are working.
• Review daily production reports, material usage sheets, keep track of work hours, complete and maintain accurate"as-built maps" for areas built.
• Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
• Verify submitted Daily Production Reports for accuracy and approve recorded production for billing purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

Work Location & Seasonal Travel Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to report to various job sites and company warehouses within the designated service area as needed. Due to seasonal conditions in the Upper Peninsula, field work may be limited or suspended during the winter months when the ground is frozen. During this period, the employee may be required to travel to other job sites, warehouses, or work locations within the company’s operating area to support ongoing operations. The ability and willingness to travel during winter months are required.

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have at least 3 years of experience in the telecommunications industry
• Good understanding of OSHA requirements and a priority for safety Knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• Knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
