Job summary

ITG Communications is hiring a Construction Coordinator in Wilmington, NC to manage the full lifecycle of telecom construction projects, coordinating field operations, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. The role requires travel for site visits and the ability to respond to emergency call-outs as needed.

Responsibilities include planning workflows, cost estimation, and ongoing project tracking to maintain profitability and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in cable/telecom construction (fiber and coax preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in project coordination or supervisory roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of construction projects including pre-construction, permitting, design, material procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Support planning of workflows, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Ensure projects are executed in accordance with established standards and timelines.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address delays or issues.
• Develop and support cost estimates for construction projects.
• Monitor job costs and track work-in-progress against budget.
• Review and evaluate change orders for accuracy and financial impact.
• Support cost control efforts to ensure project profitability.
• Conduct site walkouts and ride-outs to assess project conditions, gather data, and monitor progress.
• Perform post-construction reviews to ensure quality and completion standards are met.
• Identify field issues and collaborate on solutions with internal teams and contractors.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and construction crews.
• Monitor contractor performance against project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
• Ensure proper resource allocation including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Partner with internal teams including Finance, Procurement, Warehouse, Legal, Engineering, and Design.
• Provide technical input and construction support to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, risks, and updates to leadership and relevant teams.
• Coordinate permit applications, licensing, and make-ready processes.
• Interface with municipalities, utility companies, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Maintain project logs, reports, and documentation related to construction activities, materials, and expenditures.
• Track project milestones and provide status updates to management.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project data.
• Review and respond to customer requests and complaints related to construction activities.
• Ensure timely resolution and maintain customer satisfaction.
