What you’ll do as an Aerial Construction Laborer

• Perform general labor duties related to telecommunications construction: loading, driving, delivery, digging, and handling materials and equipment
• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Use hand tools and equipment safely, such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
• Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators
• Set up safety perimeters with signage, cones, barriers
• Flag traffic when required
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders

What you’ll need

• Be at least 18 years old
• Authorization to work in the US
• Valid driver’s license
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures
• Ability to climb poles, work in bucket trucks, and work aloft up to 40 feet
• Perform duties like pole transfers, maintenance, new builds, cable installation, strand construction
• Lifting/carrying capacity of 50 lbs regularly, up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Maintain safe work areas
• Work in all weather conditions

Physical abilities & exposures

• Extended standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs
• Work in extreme weather conditions
