What you’ll do as an Aerial Construction Laborer
  • Perform general labor duties related to telecommunications construction: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment
  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
  • Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, safety barriers
  • Flag traffic when required
  • Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
What You’ll Need
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
  • Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
  • Ability to climb telephone poles and work in bucket trucks, work aloft, and climb poles up to 40 feet
  • Able to perform all telecommunications construction duties
  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
Physical Abilities & Exposures
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Work in extreme weather conditions
