Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Temporary Entry Communications Technician (UTEMPS) on our Enterprise Technology team at UT Main Campus. You will install telecommunications cabling in inside-plant environments, support wireless access points, and assist with commercial construction tasks under supervision.

This 40-hour-per-week, non-exempt temporary role runs through Aug 31, 2027. A Class C driver's license is required, and applicants must be able to work on site on UT's campus

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Experience installing inside plant communications cabling and wireless access points.
• Experience in commercial construction work.
• Regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Install Telecom cabling in new and existing structures in enclosed and cramped spaces or at heights.
• Complete Reports of time, materials, and other necessary items required for the assigned tasks. Set up and dismantle equipment. Operate a UT vehicle.
