Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction is seeking a Foreman of Telecom Aerial Equipment in the Southwest Alabama and West Southwest Florida region. You will lead crews responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom infrastructure, ensuring safety and quality while coordinating daily tasks and equipment operations.

Applicants should have 5+ years of aerial telecom experience, leadership exposure, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of experience operating and maintaining aerial telecom equipment and supervising crews.
• Valid state driver’s license with two years driving experience and a clean record.
• 3 years in aerial telecom equipment operation with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and job plans.
• Strong teamwork and independent work capability; willing to work overtime and weekends.
• Capable of working safely in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of telecom laborers and aerial equipment operators to complete fiber optic and telecom line installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Coordinate daily tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor team performance to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Operate aerial equipment such as bucket trucks, pole climbers, and lifts as needed for complex tasks.
• Read and apply blueprints, specifications, and job plans to ensure accurate aerial telecom installation.
• Conduct safety briefings and enforce compliance with all safety regulations for working at heights.
• Inspect job sites for hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate project updates and progress to supervisors and stakeholders.
• Oversee site restoration and secure installation of telecom lines and equipment.
• Resolve issues related to aerial telecom installation or equipment operation in real-time.
• Train and mentor team members to enhance skills and performance.
