Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a part-time Teen & Sports Coordinator for the Greenpoint branch in Brooklyn. You will oversee teen programming and lead sports activities while ensuring youth safety and engagement.

Required Qualifications include a high school diploma, 2 years working with youth, and 21+ age. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred; proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College credits in Education desired.
• Minimum of two years of experience with youth/teens and planning activities.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience teaching and facilitating trainings on teen-related issues.
• First Aid, CPR or AED certifications preferred.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of youth with close supervision.
• Manage data entry in Youth Service.NET and AS400; coordinate participant paperwork.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement program registration, workshops, and events.
• Assist in marketing and distributing program information; compile statistics.
• Establish links with service providers and community partners.
• Attend monthly training sessions related to Teen and Sports programming.
• Plan and create new teen programs meeting community needs.
• Plan, promote, implement, supervise, and coordinate sports programs; coach/official duties as needed.
• Implement curriculum per YMCA Teen Program standards; support weekly meetings and community service projects.
• Participate in Branch Fundraising or Annual Support Campaigns.
• Liaise with YMCA of Greater New York regarding teen issues.
• Support Youth & Family Director with staff management and scheduling.
• Manage adolescent behavior with respect and encouragement.
• Create and sustain a diverse, inclusive environment.
